The story so far — in full colour

Two diplomas, four excellence awards, six live tools, one teaching mission — and a stubborn belief that anyone can learn anything if it’s taught with patience.

Portrait of Muhammad Faizan Qureshi

Hello, again

Muhammad Faizan Qureshi — developer by craft, teacher by calling

I’m a full-stack web developer and technology educator from Peshawar, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. My journey didn’t begin in a computer science degree — it began in a double life: studying for a Diploma of Commerce (D.Com) at the Government College of Commerce, Ring Road Peshawar while simultaneously completing a Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) at the same institute. Two different worlds, two different ways of thinking — and I refused to choose between them.

That decision shaped everything since. Commerce taught me how businesses actually work: money flows, ledgers, markets, and the discipline of getting numbers right. Information technology taught me how to build: code, databases, networks, and the craft of turning blank files into working software. Somewhere in the middle, I discovered the thing I love most — taking both worlds apart and explaining them to other people until the “click” happens on their side of the table.

Today, I’m an undergraduate BS Computer Science student at the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), Peshawar — one of the region’s most reputable institutes — and I spend my time on three things: building web products like Handy Tools (the utility suite I co-founded with my brother), learning the AI-era toolkit of Python, agents and prompt engineering — and teaching everything from English grammar to JavaScript to students and parents who want more than rote memorisation. I speak English, Urdu and Pashto fluently, so nothing gets lost in translation when we learn together.

The Journey

How a commerce student fell in love with code

CHAPTER 01

The commerce foundation

Enrolled in the Diploma of Commerce at Government College of Commerce, Ring Road Peshawar — and discovered that accounting, business mathematics and statistics weren’t just subjects, but languages for describing how the real world works. Finished the year with an Excellence Award.

CHAPTER 02

The parallel path — DIT

While still a commerce student, I took on the Diploma in Information Technology at the same college: programming fundamentals, web development, databases, video editing, networking. Late nights doubled. It ended with the DIT Excellence Award — and a permanent itch to build things.

CHAPTER 03

Depth over speed

Final year of D.Com: advanced accounting, economics and computerised accounting. Concepts got harder; my study system got better. The results: a Final Year Excellence Award and, on graduation day, the overall Convocation Excellence Award.

CHAPTER 04

Shipping, not just studying

My brother Muhammad Hassan Qureshi and I stopped waiting for permission and built our first real product: Handy Tools — six online utilities, live on the internet, used by real people. Nothing teaches like production.

CHAPTER 05 — NOW

BS Computer Science + the AI era

Now an undergraduate BS Computer Science student at IMSciences Peshawar, certified in Python AI Development, deep in prompt engineering, agents and vibe coding. Building LearnFinity in public. And teaching — because the fastest way I’ve found to master something is to make it make sense to someone else.

What I believe

Teach what you build; build what you teach. A concept you can’t explain is a concept you don’t own yet. Every project I ship makes me a better tutor; every tutoring hour makes me a clearer thinker.

Concepts over shortcuts. Marks fade, frameworks die, syllabi change — understanding compounds. I teach the why first, then the how, then the practice that makes it permanent.

Technology should be demystified. Every intimidating tool — Git, AI agents, CSS, statistics — is only a set of small, learnable ideas wearing a scary costume. My job is taking the costume off.

Where you’ll find me

When I’m not coding or teaching, I’m usually exploring new AI tools, planning content, or sketching the next feature for LearnFinity. I care deeply about making quality education reachable for students across Pakistan and beyond — which is exactly what LearnFinity is about.
